Joyce has deep roots in the strategic planning community and has been very active in its leadership. In 2003, she co-founded the Northern California chapter of the Association for Strategic Planning (ASP) and for 6 years was a member of the Board of Directors of both the national ASP association and the Northern California ASP chapter. In 2009, she received the ASP’s Outstanding Service Award. In 2010, she was inducted into the ASP Hall of Fame and was one of the first 25 individuals to be certified as a Strategic Management Professional by the ASP.

Joyce also has a long track record of success in leadership coaching, teaming and development. She is a top expert in applying a fast-cycle profiling system that enables individuals to understand how they prefer to learn, get things done, and work with others. This profile input takes only 2-3 minutes but generates powerful, practical reports for individual leaders, dyads (two leaders) and leadership teams.

Joyce has held senior positions in several San Francisco Bay Area organizations focusing on transformational change:

• Senior HR Business Partner/Consultant at Genentech, Inc. for the Divisions of Research and Pharmacological Sciences

• Director of Organization Development for UCSF Stanford Health Care (through their merger and demerger)

• Founder and Director of the Organization Development Department for Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford

• Director of Organization Development for Kaiser Permanente Medical Center -- Santa Clara.

• Member of the Stanford/NTL Facilitator Network and as such is a certified facilitator for T-groups of MBA students in the popular Interpersonal Relations course at the Stanford Graduate School of Business

• Member of the San Francisco Bay Area Advisory Board for Facing History and Ourselves

• Appointee to the President's Council of Cornell Women.
